The Patek Philippe Gondolo 5109G-001 Presented by Patek Philippe at the Basel Fair in April 2003. The Gondolo collection was named after the famous retailer in Rio de Janeiro, Gondolo & Labouriau. Inspired by the Ref. E739 “Chronometro Gondolo” built during the 1930s for upscale Brazilian importer “Gondolo and Labourier.” Gondolo´s drew inspiration from the robust rectilinear geometries and bold forms popularized by contemporary Art Deco skyscrapers, automobiles, and ocean liners. Patek Philippe Gondolo 5109 revives that distinguished tradition of pioneering avant garde style. Watch case is 43 x 30 mm The dial of the Gondolo 5109 reads as a portal into a bygone era of elegance and innovation. Patek Philippe combines spade, feuille, and cobalt-blued hands to a silver metallic watch face. Hour track of stylized Breguet numerals is encircled by a modified “railroad” sector chapter ring. Inside this vintage-style case is Patek Philippe’s in-house caliber 215. Classic manual winding and small second. Patek-designed “Gyromax” free-sprung escapement, and Geneva Seal with mirrored polish for highest production quality. The 2.55mm thick movement’s is a major contributor to this ultra-thin Patek Philippe Gondolo’s 6.2mm total thickness. The luxury watch is worn with a matt black crocodile leather strap, with a tang-type buckle matches in white gold to match the case.
